9 Months

9 Months - its been 9 months since my last post. Wonder what happening to me?

Its a 9 months of adventure. Career adventure and travelling adventure.

Work has never been more challenging that now. Going into the financial industry is no kidding. It is an eye opener to the way bankers work behind the scenes, to provide the seamless customer experience.

I'm working in the Internet Banking Dept, handling projects, doing programming, solving issues etc. Yups, sound very techie. From F&B to IT, I really amaze myself.

In between learning the banking many systems on the back end and the long hours, I manage to go a travelling.

1) Hokkaido, Japan

2) England, Scotland & Wales, UK

3) Vienna, Salzburg, Austria

sharonee@work

Learning, this is a word I'm constantly using. Learning this, learning that...... thats the life of a person who just started a new job.

Everything is new, so it take some getting use to.

More pics from HK trip. (just to take a break from the new job subject)

Work for Money? Work for livelihood? Work for what?
For me:
Work = Money,
Money = Livelihood,
Livelihood = Comfort,
Comfort = Happiness,
Happiness = Travelling + Photography + Food + Love Ones = Money,
Money = Work.
So back to square 1. Go back to work.

Trip to Penang and Langkawi 1st May 2004

We (Jackie, Cindy, Siah, Lee Fun and me) planned for a trip to Penang and Hatyai. It is Wesak and Labour Day Public Holiday and all of us have 3 days off. Also Jackie got her new car - Proton Wira. And to commemorate that, we are taking her car to Penang.

But the news keep repeating of bombings in South Thailand and it is unsafe for M'sians to be there. Thus our plan to Hatyai has been cancelled. Not by us, but our families wont allow us to even bring our passports out of the house.

Anyway, we wanted to give Jackie's car a warm up session. But I tell you, it was a real warm up, we were stuck in a jam all the was up the North-South H'way for 9 HOURS!!! Can you imagine, driving a manual gear car 9HOURS in a jam for a 400KM drive up to Penang. We started the journey at 9pm and reached Penang at 6am.

Story to be continued.......

Kampachi Japanese Restaurant

Since i change my display picture in yahoo messenger to this picture, alot of people ask me where is the restaurant. They are magnetise by the delicious and yummy, fresh, looking fish slices on the japanese bowl.

Actually it is really very yummy and delicious.

The price is Rm45 for that bowl of Chirashi Sushi, but definately worth it.

Galeri Hardware Penang DIY/ Do-It-Yourself

Heard of a DIY Hardware shop in Penang?

I was on holiday in Penang, and passed by this old shop house that sell DIY hardware, with a unique name - GALERI HARDWARE DIY. Since nothing to do and lotsa time to waste, so drop by to buy some stuff.

Found that the things there quite cheap and some branded tools quite reasonable.

I bought a "S" hook (RM3.10), Pentalite White Undercoat Paint, Paint Brush, Paint Roller, Paint Pan......forgot liao summore got what.

You can find almost anything you need from A-Z for DIY here, even gardening tools, drills, laser measuring equipment, nuts and bolts.

Don't have to worry about going here and there to find different DIY needs, the range are all easily found here. Every tool comes in different sizes.

Anyway, you can take a look for yourself:

Koong Jung Korean Restaurant - PNB Darby Park

I'm very dissapointed with the service given to me and my 3 friends when I visited Koong Jung Korean Restaurant in PNB Darby Park yesterday 13/8/2006 from 640pm-730pm. When we started ordering the waiter pestered us to take 2 sets each of the Sirlion and Lamb, but since I have been to this place before, I know we won't be able to finish it. So we ordered 3 sets of the BBQ meat instead. Sirlion, Rib and Marinated Lamb (it comes with those small small appetizer side dishes) and 1 Hot Pot Rice. The Sirlion came first and was BBQ in front of us in a charcoal grill. Rib and Lamb follows.

The waiter was rushing us to finish our BBQ meat. He cooked the Sirlion and when we haven't finish eating, he took the meat off the grill and put it on our plates, then started grilling the Rib and also put it on our plates since we were not fast enough to finish the Sirlion earlier. Same happened to the Lamb. We keep stuffing ourselves quickly coz knowing that the meat won't taste so good after its cold. But we're not unable to swallow so fast, so nearing the last pieces, it was cold and tasteless.

After this marathon of grilled meat we took our time to savour the small appetizer side dishes. When we finished the first round, we asked for refill. There was no waiter around and we had to wave from someone to attend to us. Finally the waiter saw us and refilled 2 items out of 10. Then when we ask for the 3rd refill, he said no because we only allow 2 times refill. As I know we are allowed 3 refill since we ordered 3 sets of BBQ. We didn't want to make a fuss with him. We sat around to finish the other appetizers and wanted to chit chat when the waiter ask "Are you finish, do you want the bill?"

Hope the Management will look into the attitudes of their waiters and servers. The food was good actually, but the bad service makes the feeling sour. Imagine it just took us 50 minutes to finish the whole meal. We had no time to slowly appreciate the food.

I'm posting this blog because I recommended this restaurant to my friends and told them it was rated the best in KL. But I was greatly dissapointed that we had to receive this kind of service for food that is not cheap.
